This rule says that anyone can ask for a default judgment if the other side does not respond to their claim. It does not matter if you are the original plaintiff, a third-party plaintiff, or someone who filed a counterclaim or cross-claim against another party. The same rules apply to everyone in this situation.
However, there is a limit on what you can get. Rule 54.03 says that a default judgment cannot give you more than what you originally asked for in your court papers, or a different type of relief than what you requested. This means the court cannot award you extra money or different remedies just because the other side failed to respond. You are still bound by the specific demands you made in your original claim.
