Rule 160 Dissolution of Corporation

If a company is being sued and then shuts down or goes out of business during the lawsuit, the case does not stop. The lawsuit keeps going just as if the company were still open and operating.

Any judgment the court reaches will be treated the same way it would have been if the company had never closed. Shutting down a business does not protect it from a lawsuit that is already in progress.
