Rule 255 Change of Venue by Consent

If everyone involved in a lawsuit agrees, a judge can move the case to a court in a different county. All parties must put their agreement in writing and file it with the court.

The new county's court must have the legal authority to handle that type of case. The judge then makes the transfer official by recording it in the court's records.
