Rule 263 Agreed Case

Sometimes both sides in a lawsuit agree on all the basic facts and just need a judge to decide what the law says about those facts. When that happens, the two sides can write up a statement that explains what they both agree happened and hand it over to the court clerk.

The judge will then look at that agreed statement and make a ruling based on it, just like they would in any other case. Once the judge signs off on the statement and issues a judgment, those two documents together become the official record of the case.
