Rule 304 Judgment Upon Record

When a judge makes a decision based on the official court record, that decision must be written down and recorded during the same court term when the judge announced it.

This means the court cannot wait until a later session to officially enter the judgment. If the ruling happened during a particular term, the paperwork recording that ruling must also be completed during that same term.
