Rule 6 Suits Commenced on Sunday

Starting a civil lawsuit on a Sunday is not allowed in Texas. You also cannot have legal papers issued or delivered to someone on a Sunday.

There are a few exceptions to this rule. If your case involves an injunction, attachment, garnishment, sequestration, or distress proceeding, those can move forward on a Sunday. Also, if a legal notice is published in a newspaper on a Sunday, that publication still counts as valid.
