Rule 682 Sworn Petition

To get an injunction in Texas, you must file a written petition with the judge. An injunction is a court order that makes someone stop doing something or requires them to do something.

Your petition must meet two requirements. First, you must sign it under oath, meaning you swear that what you wrote is true. Second, it must clearly explain why you need the injunction in plain, understandable language.

If your petition does not include both of these things, the court will not grant your request. The judge needs to understand exactly what the problem is and why you need the court to step in.
