Rule 772 Procedure

If you want to split up personal property (like vehicles, equipment, or other belongings) that you own with someone else, you start the process by filing a regular lawsuit. There is no special filing procedure just because it involves dividing property.

Everyone who has an ownership claim to the property must be notified about the lawsuit the same way people are notified in any other civil case. This means they must be properly served with the court papers.
