Rule 794 Amended Abstract

If you are in a court case involving property, you can ask the court to update or fix your abstract of title. An abstract of title is a summary of the history of who has owned a piece of property. The court follows the same rules for updating an abstract as it does for changing other court documents.

There is one important limit. At trial, you can only use documents that are listed in your abstract of title. If a document is not in the abstract, you cannot use it as evidence during the trial. This means you need to make sure your abstract includes everything you plan to use before the trial begins.
