Art. 35.28 WHEN NO CLERK

If a court doesn't have a clerk, the judge steps in to handle the clerk's duties. This applies specifically to the tasks described in Article 35.27, which normally fall on the clerk's shoulders.

In practice, this means the process for those tasks doesn't stop just because there's no clerk available. Whatever the clerk would normally be responsible for, the judge takes care of it instead. This keeps things moving forward without delays or gaps in the process.
