Art. 45A.355 EXTENSION FOR GOOD CAUSE

If you get a ticket and are supposed to take a driving safety course or a motorcycle training course, you sometimes need to give the court proof that you finished it. This rule covers what happens if you miss the deadline to turn in that proof.

If you have a good reason for being late, the court can give you more time. During this extra time, you can turn in either a certificate showing you finished the driving safety course, or a verification showing you completed the motorcycle training course.

Basically, this rule gives people a second chance if they have a real reason for missing the original deadline. It is not automatic, though. You have to explain to the court why you were late, and the judge decides if your reason counts as "good cause" before granting extra time.
