Plain-English Summary (for reference only — not a substitute for the rule text above)
This summary is not the rule. The rule text controls.
This rule covers how much money officers and jury members get paid when they investigate certain cases. It says their pay should match what is normally paid for holding an inquest, which is the process used to investigate a death.
The rule keeps things simple by not creating a brand new pay system. Instead, it just points to the existing pay rates already used for death inquests and applies those same rates here. The payment process also works the same way it does for those inquests.
In plain terms, this means nobody has to guess how much these officers and jury members should earn. The law already has a pay structure in place for inquests, so this rule just reuses it for this situation instead of setting new rules.
