Art. 5C.003 EFFECT OF NONCOMPLIANCE

If a court forgets to include certain required information in a conviction or deferred adjudication order for these specific theft or fraud offenses, that mistake alone does not undo the conviction or order. The conviction still counts and still stands, even if the paperwork is incomplete or missing details it should have included.

This rule exists to protect the outcome of a case from being thrown out over a clerical error. In other words, if a judge or court staff misses a required step when filling out the judgment, the person is still considered convicted, and the case is not automatically reopened or reversed just because of that paperwork mistake.
