Art. 65.059 DNA SPECIMEN

If you have to register under this law, you must give a DNA sample when a law enforcement agency asks for one. This request would be made under a specific part of the Texas Government Code that deals with DNA collection.

You don't have a choice about whether to comply. Giving the sample is a required part of staying in line with your registration duties. If you refuse or ignore the request, it could lead to legal trouble on top of whatever registration requirements you already have to follow.
