Art. 9A.006 SEIZURE AND DESTRUCTION OF UNWHOLESOME FOOD OR ADULTERATED MEDICINE

If someone is found guilty of selling bad food or fake or contaminated medicine, the court will order the sheriff or another officer to step in. That officer's job is to find any of that same unwholesome food or adulterated medicine still in the seller's possession and take it away.

Once the officer seizes these products, they must be destroyed. This keeps the seller from putting the same bad food or medicine back on the market after their conviction. The goal is simple: protect the public by making sure unsafe products don't end up back in stores or in people's hands.

For the person convicted, this means losing any leftover stock of the food or medicine involved in their case. They don't get it back, and they don't get paid for it. It's automatically destroyed once the court gives the order.
