Rule 2.04 Organizational Meeting of Grievance Committees

Each year, grievance committees have to hold a meeting to get organized for the year ahead. The person who was chair the year before is in charge of setting up this meeting, and it has to happen by July 15.

At the meeting, the outgoing chair swears in any new committee members. The outgoing chair also runs the meeting until the committee picks its new chair. This vote happens by majority rule, meaning the chair needs more than half the votes to win.

One interesting detail: committee members are allowed to vote for themselves when choosing the new chair. So if someone wants the job, they can back their own bid for it.
