Rule 512 Privileged Matter Disclosed Under Compulsion or Without Opportunity to Claim Privilege

If someone was forced by a court to share private or protected information, that does not mean they lose their right to keep it private in the future. The same is true if the information came out before they had a chance to object.

For example, if a judge wrongly ordered you to hand over records that should have been protected, you can still claim that protection later in the case. The mistake does not count against you.
