Rule 610 Religious Beliefs or Opinions

A witness's religion cannot be used to make them look more or less trustworthy in court. It does not matter what religion someone follows or whether they follow any religion at all.

Neither side can bring up a witness's faith to suggest that person is lying or that they should be believed. The jury must judge the witness based on what they actually say and how they say it, not on their religious background.
