Rule 903 Subscribing Witness’s Testimony

When someone signs a document as a witness, that person does not usually need to come to court to prove the document is real. Most of the time, other ways of proving a document is genuine are perfectly acceptable.

The only exception is when a specific law requires a witness to testify. For example, some states have laws about wills or other legal documents that say a signing witness must confirm the document in court. If that kind of law applies to your document, then the witness would need to testify.
