Rule 19 Notice of Possible Judicial Disqualification.

If a judge who is now on the Supreme Court had any earlier role in your case, the court needs to know about it. This can happen if a Chief Justice, an Associate Justice, or a Designated Justice on your appeal panel worked on the case earlier while it was in the Superior Court, or in a related case. Since that judge may need to step aside from your appeal, the court needs a heads up as soon as possible.

If you are the appellant, you must tell the Clerk of the Supreme Court about this in writing right after you file your notice of appeal. You also need to send a copy of that notice to the other side's lawyer. This lets everyone know early on that there might be a conflict.

If you are the appellee, you have a backup job here. If the appellant does not fully or correctly report this information, you need to notify the Clerk yourself. This rule makes sure the court finds out about possible conflicts even if one side misses or ignores the requirement.
