Rule 82 Jurisdiction and Venue Unaffected

The rules of civil procedure don't change what kinds of cases the Superior Court can hear. They also don't change where a case can be filed. These procedural rules only explain how a case moves through court once it's already properly filed there.

In other words, the rules that tell people how to file papers, schedule hearings, or handle evidence are separate from the rules that decide whether a court has the power to hear a case at all. If a law or another rule says the Superior Court can or can't hear a certain type of case, that stays true no matter what these procedural rules say. The same goes for venue, which is about picking the correct location or court to file in. This rule simply makes sure the two systems don't get mixed up or accidentally overridden by each other.
