Rule 44 Landlord and Tenant Cases.

If you have a landlord and tenant case, it gets put on its own separate list on the court calendar. This keeps these cases organized and separate from other types of lawsuits.

Your case will normally be heard on the "return day," which is the date listed on your court papers as the day you need to show up. The judge will hear the case that day unless something changes the schedule.

There are two ways your case can get pushed back to a later date. The judge can decide on their own to postpone it. Or both sides in the case can agree to postpone it, but the judge still has to approve that agreement before the date actually changes.
