Rule 13 Notice of filing by clerk

When the trial court sends the index of the record to the appeals court, the appeals court clerk files it right away. The clerk then quickly notifies everyone involved in the case about two important dates.

The first date is when the index was officially filed with the appeals court. The second date is the deadline for the appellant (the person appealing the case) to submit their opening brief, which is calculated based on Rule 26. This notice helps make sure all parties know when key deadlines are coming up so they can prepare their filings on time.
