Rule 10-1-801 Fax filings

Courts in Utah's Eighth District generally don't accept documents sent by fax. If you fax something to the court intending it to be filed in your case, it won't count as officially filed.

There are only three exceptions. The court will accept fax copies of stay reports, revocation requests, and presentence reports. Everything else needs to be filed another way, such as in person, by mail, or through the court's electronic filing system.

If you're not sure whether your document qualifies as one of these exceptions, it's best to check with the court clerk before relying on a fax to meet a deadline.
