Rule 4-702 Electronic citations required

Starting July 1, 2012, any citation given to someone must be sent to the court electronically instead of on paper. This applies to all courts in the state.

For most people, this means the ticket or citation you receive gets filed with the court through an electronic system automatically. You don't need to do anything different, but it means the court already has your citation information on record electronically once it's issued, rather than waiting for someone to manually enter paper records.
