Rule 2:1007 Testimony or Written Admission of a Party

If someone involved in a lawsuit has already admitted in writing or in their own testimony what a document says, that admission can be used as proof of the document's contents. The other side does not need to produce the original document to use that admission against them.

For example, if you wrote in an email "I signed the contract on March 5th," that statement can be used as evidence of what the contract said, even if the contract itself is never shown to the court.
