Rule 71 Enforcing relief for or against a nonparty

If a court order gives benefits to someone who isn't officially part of the lawsuit, that person can still use the normal court process to make sure the order is followed. They don't need to be a named party in the case to get help enforcing it.

The same is true the other way around. If a court order can be enforced against someone who isn't a party to the case, the court can make that person follow the order using the same methods it would use against an actual party. This means a nonparty can't avoid an order just because they weren't officially named in the lawsuit.

In short, this rule makes sure that court orders work as intended, even when they involve people outside the main case. Whether someone is getting help from an order or being held to it, the court treats them the same way it treats the people who are formally involved in the lawsuit.
