Rule 3 Effective Date

These rules started on January 1, 2002. From that date forward, every domestic violence civil case in West Virginia has followed these rules.

If you're involved in a domestic violence civil case today, this rule simply confirms that the current set of rules applies to your case. You don't need to worry about older rules or different procedures from before 2002. The court system has been using this same framework for domestic violence civil proceedings for many years now.
