Rule 4.7 Record of Hearings

Every hearing before the Judicial Hearing Board has to be recorded. This can be done with a stenographer, a mechanical device, or an electronic recording system. The goal is to make sure there's always an accurate record of what happened during the hearing.

If the judge involved in the case wants a copy of this recording, they can ask for one. They're allowed to get a copy of the videotape, audiotape, or written transcript, whichever format was used to record the hearing.

This matters because it protects the judge's rights during the disciplinary process. Having an official record means there's no dispute later about what was said or what evidence was presented. It also gives the judge the ability to review exactly what happened and use that information if they need to respond to the charges or appeal a decision.
