Rule 15A.12 Authenticity

When a document is filed electronically following the E-Filing rules, courts will treat it as genuine and legitimate. This means if you print out a copy of that electronically filed document, and the printout accurately matches what was filed, the printed version counts as authentic too.

In practical terms, this rule saves everyone from having to prove a document is real every time it gets used in court. If you filed something through the e-filing system correctly, you don't need extra steps to show a judge that the document is what it claims to be. The same goes for a printed copy, as long as it truly reflects the original electronic filing.
