Rule 32.08 Exchange of Exhibit Lists

At least seven days before the trial starts, both sides need to share a list of the exhibits they plan to use during their main presentation of evidence. This gives everyone a heads up about what documents, photos, or other items will be shown in court.

Along with the list, each side should also try to give the other side actual copies of these exhibits, if they haven't already done so. This helps both sides prepare and avoid surprises once the trial begins.

The point of this rule is fairness. Nobody should walk into trial and get blindsided by evidence they've never seen before. By swapping lists and copies ahead of time, both sides know what to expect and can plan their questions, objections, or responses.
