Rule 4.3 Reference to Penal Code

When these criminal rules mention a law or code section without specifying which law it comes from, it means the California Penal Code. You do not need to guess which set of laws is being referenced.

This is a simple housekeeping rule that saves the court from having to write "Penal Code" every single time a law is mentioned. If a rule cites a different law, it will say so clearly.
