Rule 9026 Objecting to a Ruling or Order

When you are part of a bankruptcy case, you do not need to make a formal objection every time a judge makes a ruling you disagree with. As long as you clearly told the court what you wanted or what you were against, your position is already on the record.

This protects your right to challenge a ruling later, such as in an appeal, without requiring you to follow extra steps just to preserve that right. The bankruptcy court follows the same procedure used in regular federal civil cases for this purpose.
