Rule 6 Plaintiff’s Brief

If you are suing the Social Security Administration, you must write and submit a brief explaining what you want the court to do. This brief must be sent to both the court and the Commissioner of Social Security.

You have 30 days to file this brief after the government files its answer in your case. If there were any motions filed earlier in the case under Rule 4(c), your 30 days starts after the last of those motions is resolved, whichever date comes later.
