Rule 3.310 Time for Challenge

During jury selection, both sides have the right to object to a specific juror before that person is officially sworn in. This is the normal window for raising concerns about whether someone should serve on the jury.

In rare cases, a judge can allow a challenge after the juror has been sworn in, but only if there is a good reason and only if the trial has not yet started. Once evidence begins to be presented, that window closes completely.
