Rule 3.420 Recall of Jury for Additional Instructions

After jurors leave to decide their verdict, the judge can bring them back to give new instructions or fix any mistakes in the original instructions. This might happen if the judge realizes something was explained incorrectly or left out.

Before calling the jurors back, the judge must notify both the prosecutor and the defense attorney. This gives both sides a heads-up before the jury hears anything new.
