Rule 6.380 Nonverification of Pleadings

When a defendant has a lawyer, their written court documents do not need to be sworn or signed under oath. This applies to most paperwork filed in traffic court, like motions or responses.

There are some exceptions. Certain court rules or state laws may require a sworn statement for specific documents. If that is the case, those rules will spell it out clearly.
