Rule 6-6 Filing Requirements

When you take a deposition or gather discovery materials like documents or answers to questions, you do not need to file those materials with the court right away. You only need to file them if a specific Georgia law requires it later in the case.

However, when you send discovery requests or responses to the other side, you do need to file a short notice with the court. This notice tells the court what you sent, when you sent it, and who received it. You do not file the actual discovery documents themselves, just this brief certificate confirming that the exchange happened.
