§ 9-11-2 [One Form of Civil Action]

Georgia courts use a single, unified system for handling civil cases. No matter what kind of civil dispute you have, whether it involves money, property, contracts, or other civil matters, it all goes through the same type of legal process.

Before this rule existed, different types of cases had different procedures, which made the system more complicated. Now, everyone follows the same basic set of rules when they take a civil case to court in Georgia.
