§ 9-11-66 [Dismissal of Receivership Actions]

If a court has appointed a receiver in your case, you cannot simply drop the case on your own. A receiver is a person the court assigns to manage property or money that is being disputed. Once a receiver is involved, the court takes on a more active role in overseeing the case.

To end the case, you must ask the court for permission and get a judge to sign an order. The judge will decide whether dismissing the case is appropriate given the circumstances.
