If you want to prove what a document, recording, or photo says or shows, you need to bring the actual original to court. You cannot just describe it or tell the judge what it said from memory.

This matters if you are trying to use something like a contract, a text message log, or a photo as evidence. The court wants to see the real thing, not a summary or someone's recollection of it.
