§ 24-10-1006 [Summaries of Voluminous Writings Admissible]

Sometimes a case involves a huge number of documents, recordings, or photos that would take too long to go through in a courtroom. When that happens, a party can create a chart, summary, or calculation that shows the key information from those materials instead of bringing everything to court.

The other side still has the right to look at all the original documents or copies. The party using the summary must make those materials available at a reasonable time and place so the other side can review them. A judge can also order that the actual documents be brought into court if needed.
