§ 24-13-97 [Uniform Act Interpretation and Reciprocity]

Georgia's rules for bringing witnesses from other states only apply when those other states have passed the same or similar rules themselves. In other words, Georgia will only help get an out-of-state witness to come testify if that other state would do the same for Georgia.

This rule also says that courts should read and apply this law in a way that keeps it consistent with how other states apply their matching laws. The goal is for all participating states to work the same way so the process runs smoothly across state lines.
