§ 24-14-9 [Jury Inference from Proved Facts]

When a jury decides a case, they do not have to only consider facts that are directly proven. They can also use common sense to figure out what other facts are likely true based on the evidence they have seen.

For example, if certain facts point strongly toward a conclusion, the jury can draw that conclusion even if no one stated it outright. They can also take notice when one side fails to provide evidence that would normally be expected, and factor that into their decision.
