§ 24-6-601 [General Witness Competency Rule]

Anyone can be a witness in a Georgia court case. The law starts with the assumption that all people are capable of testifying.

There are some exceptions to this general rule, and those exceptions are spelled out elsewhere in the evidence code. Unless one of those specific exceptions applies, no one can be blocked from testifying just because of who they are or their background.
