Rule 14.1 Filing of Judgments

When a judge makes a final decision in a juvenile court case, that decision must be signed by the judge and then officially filed with the court clerk. The clerk stamps the document to show it has been filed.

The filing date matters if you want to appeal the decision. Even if the judge has already signed the judgment, the clock for filing an appeal does not start until the clerk stamps it as filed. So keep an eye on that stamp date, not the date the judge signed it.
