Rule 15 Contempt

If you ignore or disobey a court order in a juvenile case, the court can take action against you. This can happen because someone filed a complaint against you, or because the judge noticed the problem on their own.

The court will send you a "show cause order," which is an official notice telling you to appear in court on a specific date. At that hearing, you will need to explain why you did not follow the court's order. If you cannot give a good reason, the judge may find you in contempt of court, which can lead to fines or other penalties.
