Rule 1.4 Deviation

A judge can make exceptions to these rules, but only in specific cases and only when the judge explains in writing why the exception is needed. That written explanation must be shared with all the attorneys involved in the case.

These rules are meant to be followed the same way in every court. Individual courts cannot simply decide on their own to do things differently as a general practice.
