Rule 2.3 Party(ies)

In magistrate court, the word "party" means more than just the people directly involved in a lawsuit. It also includes police officers and other law enforcement who are part of a criminal case, as well as the lawyers who are officially representing someone in the case.

This matters because any rule that applies to "parties" in magistrate court applies to these people too. So if a rule says parties must do something, law enforcement officers and attorneys involved in the case generally have to follow that same rule.
