Rule 5.2 Time of Docketing

When you file paperwork with the magistrate court, the court staff must record your case in the official court log right away or within a reasonable amount of time after receiving it.

This means your case should not sit in a pile and be forgotten. The clerk, a deputy clerk, or a magistrate is responsible for making sure it gets entered into the system promptly.
